First time visitors

Never been to a Rock Jungle location before?

Rock climbing can seem intimidating, but it’s a lot easier to get into than you might think!

The sport of climbing is broken up into a few different disciplines. At Factory Climbing, we offer both bouldering and rope climbing (top and lead). Bouldering is all about shorter heights - the walls are 15 feet or shorter - and instead of using ropes and harnesses, we have a thick foam pad around all of the walls! This is a very approachable style of climbing since very little training and equipment are required to get started.

Rope climbing, however, is what you’ve seen on TV - you’ll be scaling our 30-foot walls, secured by a harness and rope. This discipline of climbing requires some technical skills, like knot tying and belaying, as well as a climbing partner who will hold the rope for you. Once you’ve tried bouldering, you should enroll in our Intro to Top Rope and learn how to get to that next level.

If this sounds like something you’re interested in, you should fill out our waiver! You’ll need to be registered in our system to climb.

What should you bring climbing?

  • Athletic, unrestrictive clothing (avoid wearing jewelry, long nails, loose accessories)

  • Socks

  • Lock (lockers are available for day use)

  • Water bottle

When you get here, we recommend you buy a First Climb! It’s our way of introducing you to our gym with a one-week trial membership. It includes rental shoes, rental chalk, a basic orientation to the gym, and access to both facilities for a full week - AND it’s cheaper than a regular day pass with rentals! (Don’t worry, you won’t be charged any hidden fees later.)

Once you’re in the building and climbing, these are the important rules to remember:

  1. All visitors need an active waiver.

  2. First time visitors need an orientation before climbing.

  3. Please do not run, play, or sit near the fall zones.

  4. Avoid climbing too closely to other climbers on the wall.

  5. All climbers must wear climbing shoes while on the wall.

  6. All climbers under age 14 must be directly supervised by a parent or guardian.

  7. All climbers under age 14 can be belayed by a parent/guardian that has passed their top rope test.

  8. All climbers must have an auto-belay and bouldering orientation before use.

  9. All rope climbers must pass a top rope test and/or lead check before use.

  10. Harassment or disrespect towards staff members will not be tolerated.
